Default Difference of 1LS & 2LS

Can someone tell me the difference between the 1st gen and 2nd gen LS400. I've been looking and I don't see the difference. Maybe if I put them side by side I'll see the difference.

Nice. Not much changes in the 1st and 2nd Gens. '98 Lexus made some decent changes.

the whole Chassis changes from 1st to 2nd gen, the suspension is better, the build quality imho is better (both are exceptionally good regardless), lots and LOTS of little things were updated/changed and overall a 2nd gen, even a 95, is a more modern car than a 1st gen.

I just went from a 1991 LS w/ 84K to a 2000 LS w/ 82K and the difference is amazing. No offense to anyone out there with a first gen LS but this 2000 feels like a luxury car cross bred with a sports car. I've driven sports cars all my life and still own an NSX and a BMW 135i. The 2000 rides much better and there is an endless amount of power from the motor. I simply could not be happier wit this car.

How true. It can not be over emphasized how different the gen 1 90-94 LS400 is from the 95-00 LS400.

I drove a 90 LS400 from new until I sold it a month or two after buying an off lease 2000 LS400 in 2003. I thought that the main thing the two cars had in common was the model name -- "LS400".

The 2nd gen is MUCH more refined.

I love my 97 way more than I did my 91.

I wholeheartedly agree about the statements regarding engine output. 98+ felt like it had endless amount of torque and always kept accelerating.

While i did not buy mine new, i did drive one back in 99 when it was relatively new, and the car was a performance leader during the time.

Wow. The 2nd gen is that much different. I love driving my 91. I think it has amazing torque and speed for its size. When I hit the gas, the car just wants to get up and go. And it feels like it's floating the faster it goes. I can't imagine how the 2nd gen rides.

It's ok, I plan on getting either an IS-F or G37C next year...I'm sure that will make me happy.

My 1LS just has to hang on until school is over.
