GS or LS?
You asked a good question and deserve a good answer. You were at least smart enough to inquire & self educate. A trait that will serve you well.
Your answers make it obvious that you want something sporty, Then by all means do it!!
The Lotus Elise has a Toyota 1.8 litre & will corner with anything on the planet. If I were 25 & after fun , that is were I would be heading.
I disagree with post I have read here that a GS is somehow second class in build quality. Different car with different goals, the engine remains the same ( UZFE series). Your car may visit the shop occasionally but not for internal engine service like an M3.
