Default 96 LS Cluster removal

I have got my instrument cluster out but don't see how it is possable to get it from behind the
steering wheel. The wheel is all the way out and down. Any suggestions or help greatly appreciated. I couldn't find any search links that give this info.

Default Cluster removal

Thanks for the help, but mine is a 96LS and the cluster is different from the one in the illustration and
I don't have that much room for the cluster to get from behind the wheel. I think the wheel might have to
come off.

Guys, i need to open mine up to disconnect the belt light, its killing me. Any help? I opened it up yesterday, and couldnt take off the actual cluster, in the 95+ there arent any bolts on the top of the cluster, so I couldnt loosen it up, even after taking off all the bolts i can see on the buttom.

Thanks.

There are two taps in the 2 and 10 o’clock positions. You have to insert your screw driver there, and push to release the cluster. Don’t forget to take out the two visible screws on the bottom.

How do you take the cover off of the bottom to get at the screws? Do you have to take the steering column cover off as well?

IT will make your job much easier if you take off the steering column cover (3 screws).

Then SLOWLY pull the plastic peice off (the one housing trip and reset buttons).
