Default Cluster needle burned out

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if you guys could tell me how to replace the cluster needles on a 95 sc300.

Just my gas needle is burned out and I saw one on ebay for 24.99, I was hoping to buy it, but have no idea where to begin as far as taking apart the instrument cluster. Any hints would be greatly appreciated.

That place is very expensive though. If your just looking to replace a needle here and there then its not that bad of a job. First, have your steering wheel as far OUT and AWAY from the cluster as possible. Then, the black base piece that goes across the bottom of the cluster should pull right off. Then across the top of the cluster you'll have these 2 black squares that you can pry off with a phillips head screw driver. Take out those 2 screws. There are 2 screws on the top of the cluster and bottom screwing it into the car. Remove those towards the back corners of the cluster and you should be able to pull it out far enough to work with.

I had a miserable time trying to get the harnesses unclipped, so I just took off the glass face plate by removing all the screws surrounding it holding it to your cluster. Then the needle will just pull off vertically but be very careful do NOT pull too hard or push the new one ON too hard or it could screw up the calibration. Best of luck.

None of the ones currently on ebay will work on your 95, which BostonSC4 didn't tell you.

They are already a decade or more old so it's just going to burn out without wty anyway if it did fit your car.

Good luck.

Why will it not fit his car...? I thought they changed the cluster in 97 to different lighting. I have es300 needles in my cluster and if you keep the brightness down they all stay perfect...going on about 5 months now with it.
