Amsoil ATF
I know there are some prior threads on this, some pretty old but anyone out there still running Amsoil or another T-IV alternative on their LS400 with any improved performance? Note: this would not be to save money but for any shift quality and performance improvement. TIA and yes I know the orthodox approach is to just use T-IV and nothing else.

Alright I did a full exchange using the transmission cooler line coming out of the bottom of the radiator, Amsoil OE multi vehicle ATF replacing Toyota T-IV. I would say I noticed a very modest improvement, but not a complete world of difference. But it feels a little more solid now shifting from neutral into drive and is just marginally smoother. The transmission seems very happy with the Amsoil.

I worry that you'd be ending up having the problem on "Slip-Controlled Lock-Up Clutch Mechanism" in the future. I'd stick to the Toyota T-IV or equivalents that contain special additives for that mechanism.
