Occasionally stuck in park
I have a 96LS400 that threw P0773 and P1765 several months ago. The car appears to shift fine, however on different occasions the car would net let me shift out of park. The issue seems related to the brake pedal as pressing hard on the pedal will oftenrelease it. I know that pressing the pedal is required to get out of park but is there an easy way to disable this lockout? I don't think my issue is related to the codes but I am not an expert. Thanks in advance.

the codes are trans related and should not be causing intermittent shifter movement.
there is a switch at the brake pedal to tell the shifter to release the shifter lock so you can move it. check that switch for proper engagement and function. you should be able to hear a slight "click" at the shifter when pressing the brake pedal (even before moving the shifter). that's the lock disengaging. of course all this needs to be done with the ignition in ON position.
also make sure there isn't crud or debris inside the shifter itself. drinks/dust/ash can make their way down there.
