Yeah. 12,000K is roughly the color of a lear blue sky.

I.E. So blue that ANY US government agency is going to pull you over any time they see you... This sin't a case of (watchout for cops, they MIGHT pull you over)

This is it's pouring down rain, thunder/lighting and tornadoe warnings accross the state... And yet every cop you pass STILL pulls you over and gets out to write you a ticket.

That's the level of blue we're talking about LoL! Besides, who would make a reliable 12,000K bulb? and you realize in a year that'll be like 14,000K right???

By the end of the bulb's lifespan we're taling some serious purple with alittle UV in there too.

I saw an 8000K kit on a Honda civic the other day at the gym and I had to laugh. The light output on the ground was so dim you could hardly see the ground. I guess wanting the "blue" look is more important than actually seeing what's in front of you.....

i hear rumors saying that if you buy anything 8000K or above, they are giving out two flashlights for free. guess there is a reason (ok, i am being sacarstic here )

They shouldn't even make anything over 6000K, but I guess its ok, because you can spot the reall ones from the fake ones. Anything with that "Blue/green" color looks dumb in my opinion. The ground lights up really blue and looks like a pair of those cheap bulbs.

I was not lookin to buy a set I am jsut curious to see how they look. I know that they could never put out the correct amount of light to see anything correctly, but was more curious on the color.

I had the 7000K HID 9006 retrofit. I was really impressed with the lights but decided to get the factory HID and upgrade the bulbs to the Philips 6000K D2R bulbs. This is what it looked like.....7000K

Hmm.
For daytime running lights I don't see a problem with 6k, 7k, or even 8k.
The point of the DRL is to be seen coming (oncoming/rearview). The 6k,7k, and 8k bulbs accomplish just that.

I'm running on 7k DRLs - they are white without the full power mod that can be done to the IS.
When running on highbeams, you do notice a bit of a blue hue tho, but it's not bothersome.
