a 2000 to my 98 non HID. How much work is involved in changing out the headlights? Does the bumper need to come off to get the headlights on/off? Are there any wire modifications needed?
yes you need to take off the bumper to take off the headlight. the wiring shouldn't be that hard at all. but you will lose the autoleveling still. it can be done, but that's very hard and very expensive
Originally posted by GSjason What is very hard about it? I already bought the complete headlights from a 00 GS with the bulbs, ballast etc
autoleveling involves putting sensors at all four wheels, all wiring... etc... you talking about pulling out a lot of penels and seriously wiring, not something worth doing at all.
rominl, is the autolevel unit itself only on one of the headlights (driver's side ?), and if you put in OEM HID (lenses, bulbs, ballast) but obviously don't have anywhere to plug in the autolevel, does it still do that so-called checking procedure when they come on (light goes up, down then level) or not, because that's what the unplugged unit actually does ??

i don't exaclty know what it will do coz' i don't have autoleveling myself. i *think* if you don't connect the autoleveling computer at all the whole thing just doesn't do anything so the headlight wont go down and up when you start it up?
