HID Problem

Hey I was wondering if someone on here could help me out. I bought 8k low beams with 55w ballasts and set them up on a relay in my SC300. When first powered up, the passenger side powered right up, but the drivers side flickered and came on after I turned them back on. It did the same thing the second start up, but came on after I drove for a little, almost like it was a voltage problem. Then one night when it was working fine, the fuse in the relay blew. So I emailed ModExpress (who I bought them from) and they sent me a new ballast for the drivers side because that side is the side that is blowing the fuse. Upon re installation, everything powered right up and was fine until that night when the fuse just blew again. Now I have another ballast on the way, but I would like to fix the problem. I moved the drivers side bulb to the passenger ballast in the mean time and the fuse hasn't blown. Could it be a relay problem? Possibly a mounting problem on the drivers side? Any help is greatly appreciated.

What's the amperage on the fuse that you're using on the relay? Is it 10A? If so, try changing it to 15A. A 55w ballast may require a higher amp fuse. I don't think your ballast is the problem. Also check your relay wires going into the driver side.

You say u have them wired with a relay harness, which fuse is it blowing, the one OEM one or the one from the relay harness? HID's draw up a lot of current the moment u ignite them, but will drop down afterwards.

The relay fuse is blowing, and it is a 20A fuse. I even tried a 25A at one point and that blew as well.

You said that you change the fuse on the relay twice at 20A and at 25A, I assume the ballast still work. In that case, you don't need to get another ballast. The problem is with the wiring. You should check the relay harness itself.
