I recently installed some H3 HID's in my fogs. They were brand new (no-name brand). Everything worked well for about 2 days. Then I noticed my fogs stopped working.
So, I checked and the fuse was blown. I replaced the fuse and only the passenger side fog started working. I checked the wiring on the drivers side and it all looked good. Although the foglight on the drivers side wasn't working, the ballast was super hot to the touch.
I was about to switch out the ballasts from the passenger side that was working, but the 20a fuse blew again and I didn't have another one...
Does it sound like the ballast is bad because it is getting super hot? Any other thoughts before I switch out ballasts? Is a 20a fuse sufficient? Could I be grounding out something causing it to blow?
First of all DO NOT change out the fuse to a different amp. I'm guessing there's an inline fuse in your HID kit. Double check your connections cause the ballast shouldn't get that hot especially if it's not working. Correct me if I'm wrong but before the install you driver side wasn't working? If so, you should fix that problem first.
