hid kit

Default hid kit

hey guys im new to the lexus world. i have installed hid b4 on other vehicles i have own and friends car.. i ran into a problem with drl on a 04 camry last time turn out i had to take out the drl fuses to get the hid to work. now with the gs300 will i have to do the same thing to get the low beam hid to work? what i want is to put 55w on low beam and fog lights. with led drl.. will that work? thanks

LED's in the DRL will work but they DRL's only run at (iirc) 50% power. There are a few who have done it with great success. I'm not sure if they used the DRL module (http://www.v-leds.com/Shop/Control/fp/SFV/32481). I'm just going to use some PIAA plasmas or something. Anyways, if you want more info, search "LED DRL" and you'll find a lot of threads on the subject. Good luck.

You should have no issue whatsoever with the lowbeams and fogs. For DRL, the LEDs shouldn't pose a problem.

do i need the relay harness for the 55 watts? or anything like that? thanks

You don't need to, but it is recommended. It's constant power to the ballast, more of a preventative measure to keep it from going bad prematurely.

i thought it was to keep it from melting your wires and causing a fire

not the harness per say its the relay that is supposed to do this. i know a few people including Jeff have the 55W kits....surprised no one has chimed in yet

also running a relay give a cleaner path of current than the factory can provide.. and the wire are thicker than those of the factory harness, have you
seen how thin they are just my 2 cent

Why not go with the 35w? Having different watts (bulb and ballast) will cause melting.
