70 Watt Ballasts - Anyone using them??
Any CL'ers using 50 (i meant 50, not 70 watt) Watt ballasts with their headlights.
If so, can you post a couple of pics. Also, can any harm be done using a 70 watt ballast, other than lower the life of you HID bulbs.

There are specific bulbs to work with high output ballasts. They're a bit more then your regular d2s bulbs, but they are made for those supercharged ballasts. Keep in mind that when you supercharge a ballast, the bulb will give a yellowish hue to the output.
I'm running some 50w ballasts. Sorry I don't have any output pix (I lost the cable to transfer pix from my cam to comp). I will try to take some with someone else's cam. The output is great. It's not a huge difference but you definitely have more light output, you can see the road signs light up for what seems like a quarter mile.
Contact JeffTsai, I think he has or is working on some 70w ballasts. But as the other poster mentioned you will need bulbs made specifically for your application because the output will be yellow and dimmer. I ran some 35w bulbs for a couple weeks and had to switch over to 50w bulbs because it seemed as though my bulbs were dying.
