Angry Headlight is fried!! Need help

Hey everybody. I have a 01 GS300 and the damn headlight keeps going out on me, so I take the bulb out and notice the harness is all melted and one of the connectors on the bulb is all fried and charred. When I connect them the bulb turns on, but it goes out when I wiggle the wires. How can I replace the harness? And can anyone recommend some hyper white headlight bulbs? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks

You might have to wire in a new harness. Out of curiosity, are you using hyper-white bulbs? IF you are, those bulbs are probably operating @ a higher voltage which might explain why your wires are frying.

Yeah, I'm using hyper-white bulbs. Do you know if its hard to replace the harness? I'm hoping that its a DIY project. Where can I get a new harness?

It should be easy.. First off what kind of connector do you have? 9006/9005/etc? That pigtail can easily be found in automotive stores.. if not the stealership. the DIY part is pretty simple, you can cut and splice in new wiring with solderless crimps. Make sure to either heat shrink that sucker or at least use electric tape to ensure a waterproof/snug fit.

Thanks c2ispy, I appreciate the help. I'll stop over at the auto shop on the way home from work and pick up the parts.
