How do I change my headlights from Halogen to Xenon? I found some on EBay, not the cheap kind, but the place I go to have my car modified will not change the lights. I am going to do it myself. How do I get into the casing without having to break anything? I went to the link previously posted in here, but that is not like a Lexus. And is there a way to take out the top bulbs of my tail lights and have them look like the newer 95-96 tail lights? And can someone also help me with the removing of the orange peices in the turn signals? Thanks.
you don't have to take apart the light. just look where your low beam light bulb is and go straight back. there you should see wires haning out. now grab the plastic that that wire goes into the headlight and turn it couter clockwise the light bulb should come right now. now just push the button on the side of the socket and take out old light bulb and push in a new one. make sure now to touch the glass part of the bulb doing any of this good luck. should not take more than 2 min. do the passenger side first its eaiser
I found some, they are AIC or APC or something. I don't know what the good brands were. I do know that people on here have said not to get a certain brand. Can someone tell me which brands not to get, so I don't hurt the car. Thanks
Ok, I have ordered my lights, they should be here around the weekend. Now I want to change my parking lamps also. As far as I can tell, it is just an orange bulb inside of the clear casing. Does anyone know how I can change this to blue, clear, or xenon? How do I get to the bulb, and can I get to the turn signal bulb from the inside too? Thanks
you can change it to clear or blue but not xenon. haha xenon as in HID. LOL that would be funny. its the exact same thing as changing your headlights except its not more over to the side
Not more over to the side? I don't understand what you mean. I have found some Xenon turn signal bulbs. And Xenon reverse lights. I looked in my car, but I couldn't see where the bulbs came into the engine compartment
I changed my parking lamps. And this also applies to anyone who wants to know how to remove the headlight assembly. When you open the hood, unscrew the five screws in the front black plastic, and pop put the 9 clips, to remove the cover that covers both headlights and the center. You should see 3 bolts directly connected to the assembly. The first, is connecting the black assembly to the painted metal. The second is down near the horn, ( I started with the passenger side first ) , and the third is vertical right below the second one. You can obviously see that they hold the assembly in place. Now you have unscrewed all 3. If you look in the crack right near the first screw holding the assembly, you should be able to see (with a flashlight) a whitish plastic clip with a silver rod in the center. That is holding your headlight on. Place a long screwdriver on the side of the metal that the clip is going through, on the side that is clostest to the headlight. I pried some, trying to push the headlight out, and it released the clip. Now you are able to pull the assembly most of the way out, with the wires still connected. THe parking lamp bulb is right where it should be, on the bottom of the place where you see it. turn that socket to the left, then pull it down. the bulbs you can just turn them left and they pop out. REplace them and put back the headlight. After you get the first one done, it will be much easier to do the second. Maybe this can help us get the orange out of there now. I have super white parling lamps and turn signals now. Looks good,as long as I get my xenons in the mail soon. Thanks guys. Later. Eric
No, i looked at the inserts, but they seem harder to get to than i thought they would be. i am going to try again when iget my xenon headlights. i should be receiving those in the mail in a few days. i'll keep you updated
i can almost guarantee that the blue xenon headlights in the 9006 or similar class will burn out the brick-colored sockets that they connect to, just a matter of time, so use your lights sparingly (only when you absolutely have to!) Some sellers say they won't burn out but turns out all i've tried to. if you look through the archives here there are instructions on taking out the amber inserts but apparently, just reading the instructions is a lotta work. goooood luck
I have read the instructions, but for taking out the amber inserts, you have to take apart the headlight, as in break it. i do not want to do that. and here in NC it is illegal to have no orange in your headlight. i know a lot of people whohave it done, but i have two school resource officers at my school who have made some of my friends put their regular lights back in. i will see how it goes though. thanks. eric
