Default HID question

So I have the Denso slims in my non HID equipped GS and usung 9006 rebased d2r bulbs. They are standard 4300k. My question is this... If I plan on buiyng the OEM HID headlights and want to use the standard d2r bulbs.. Can I also use the d2s bulbs just the same way???

Thanks,
Rock

D2S and D2R bulbs are the same, but the application in which they are used is different.

D2R bulbs are for headlights that uses reflectors. They have a cap sort of thing on the light bulb to prevent glare.

D2S bulbs are for headlights that uses projectors. This one does not have the cap.

Default btw

So then I should not use these... ? Will there be a glaring issue and not work properly? Or can I use them and have no problems?

if you get oem headlights D2S bulbs bulbs will not fit into D2R bulb slot without slight modification, as the notches are in different places on the base of the bulbs.

if you sucessfullly get to modifying some D2S bulbs into D2R housing (isnt hard), however since the output of the bulb will be un restricted if you may, there should be some kind of glare or the cutoff will be effected since the excess light the D2S bulb is putting out will be wrongfully refelcted on out, messing up the optics of the output.

I would just stick with D2R, but you can go ahead and try, you will need a dremel tho to make them fit.
