Ooops...I might get in trouble here...I love the "exotic" colored HID. Remember the older MB S500 sedans? Non-projector headlights, HID. Had the most wonderful purple hue, tho the light reflecting off the pavement was white.
True that the higher the kelvin, the lower the light output. But the "16,000K" in my GX470 (lows and fogs) put out very bright light that is blue...we call it "blacklight-blue". Starts off a deep purplish blue, then brightens to a deep blue, with no greenish/aqua tint. The light on a cement road is very bright blue, and the road signs and white road-paint floresce blue too. I even had an older gentleman in a Jaguar follow me into the local grocery parking lot and ask where he could get this color. Around here in NOVA, I see alot of blue HID and especially lots in Maryland. Knock on wood, I have been right behind various police cars around here, including VA & MD state police, with no problems yet. Maybe because its a Lexus? I am sure if I was in a Honda Civic with coffee-can muffler and thirty foot high rear 'spoiler', I would get pulled over. But it seems that since HID has become very common in production cars, the police have backed off. Not so in the early daze, when they looked for cars like Civics and Chevy's with HID kits and parked them on the spot...Today I even see tour busses and some big-rigs with HID. And bicylist's too (!!!) You can by actual HID lighting for your bicycle. And did I mention HID flashlights?? Look on eBay and blow your mind!

The purple HID is extremely rare around here. I have 12,000K on one of my cars and it is a very bright purple, reflecting purple off white objects and road signs.
But that deep blue in combo with my "Blizzard Pearl" just go together.
