Are you going with the Ice Blues? I really like the look of both the "blues and HO's."
I'm checking (legally) to see if I can get use one of these types without being harassed in Maryland.
Go for it!

I just read a post under the ES forum (I think page 2 or 3) where a member installed HO lights and burned out the socket. He mentioned something about changing the harness. CHECK IT OUT BEFORE YOU UPGRADE! I hate to see you have the same problem.

I asked my mechanic today about Ice Blue's and he doesnt recommend them... but recommended all weather UV bulbs the same as whats used in Beemers and Audi's.. so i think i might investigate a little more and make sure i get the right bulbs

That's a difference between high output and high wattage bulbs. There are many high output bulbs available (such as GE, Phillips, & Sylvania) that use the stock wattage (and yes, it is brighter).
High Wattage, doesn't mean high output. The blue coating reduces light output, anyway you look at it. If you get the 80W 9006 bulbs, yes they will melt your wiring, because it produces more heat.
Light is measured in Lumens, not wattage.

Thanks V.
Oh for the record, light lumens refers to reflective capability of the source (e.g. bulb output/brightness). Light is measured in foot candles (fc). But that's another discussion. For the purpose of the forum, it may be best to keep information in laymen's terms.
I believe in the KIS (Keep It Simple) principal.
Again, Thanks

seems weird... the 3 spades that stick out of the base of the bulb are not the correct size. Mine are thinner at the bottom and thick at the top and the 9006 is the opposite. I wonder if mine is different as it is a japanese import.
Lets hope I dont get a blown bulb.. coz i cannot find any in this country

i few ideas for tricking out you head lights,
1. Cleared out corners
2. Yellow glowing lights in high beams
3. Bumber blinkers
Check these mods out, somthing to spice up the front end of the car at night. I love my yellow lights in the high beams its awesome when i pull up on a car and see my front end reflecting in the trunk area and i see the reflection of all the lights, it looks so mean and i had royal blue lights in the highbeams, but for obvious reasons i changed them to the leagal collor yellow, no problems after that. Let me know what you think.
