Default Ballast Temp Endurance?

Just how high of a temperature can the ballast itself handle? When I installed my retrofit, the passenger side was no problem in terms of heating since it's near my intake with a cold ram tubing, but on the driver side, there was like no space whatsoever so i just adapted a bracket and had it hold on by the radiator bracket. Is this okae? borderline? move it away immediately? also, just for future reference, what does happen if the ballast goes kaputz?

Thanx,
Anthony

I would mount the Driviers side elsewhere. The radiator gets pretty hot. Try to wedge it between the bottom of the headlight and the front crush bar. Its a pretty tight fit there and will stay put. I would suggest if you use this method to have the vent and connectors facing toward the bumper and bend them off to the sides to come out for the wiring harness and connect to the bulb. Hope that last sentence made sense.

just curious, i think there is always quite some space right under the headlight. if you can fabricate some sort of bracket and mount the ballasts there i think that's the best option. that's where the oem ballasts are anyway
