Question Need help with HID's

whats up guys...I'm a newbie to the board. I have been hanging around here for quite some time but never posting until now. Tonight I was cleaning my car and decided to go riding...when all of a sudden when I'm looking at myself passing in the window of this building.I notice that my driver's side headlight was out.. I stopped to make sure my eyes weren't playing tricks on me.I turned off the switch and turned it back on and the light lit back up only to go back out.
Now it does this all the time. I played with the conectors to see if there was a bad conection but nothing...I did notice that the light had more of a purplish hue than the passenger light..Ithe light looks like when you first turn on the lights...(that real purple hue). my question is "are these tell tale sounds that the bulb needs replaing soon? or is it something in the switch or plug?
I need some help on this one guys...I have searched and found nothing of the sort in the forms.PLEASE HELP!!

Was thinking the same thing. . . HID bulbs that are going to go out soon tend to lose their normal color and take a different shade--happened to me in my old Acura TL.

How old (model year ) is your car? How long have you had it? HID bulbs usually have a life of around 2500-3000 hours of str8 burn time. If your GS is 98 with the first set of factory HIDz then your bulbs may need soem replacing. I would do this first cuz its the cheapest solution. Search Ebay for D2R Philips or OSRAM new 4100K bulbs. Its a direct replacement for what you got. They can be had for less than 70 bucks shipped for a new set. Good luck
