Question HID Kit LX 470

Has anyone found a H1 HID kit for a Lexus LX 470, that did not require any rounding out or making the hole in the headlight housing bigger. My H1 silverstars fit great, however the HID kit that I just bought does not. The bulb is very tight in the housing, and may very well break if pushed in any further. I could never get the spring back over the bulb to hold them in anyway. I talked to one of the people where I bought the kit from and he told me to take a large flathead screwdriver and turn it around in the housing until it was rounder? I am not even trying to ***** up my housing, to get these jokers to fit right. The kit said it was plug and play? What a bunch a crap! Any ideas...many thanks.

I'm not familiar with the Polarion brand of HID kits. I've always recommended going with a quality rebased bulb that is designed to fit perfectly into the stock housings. I got my kit from autolamps (HID-online.com) and it fits like a glove. You may want to consider returning the kit. I don't think you should have to mess around with your housing in order to get it to fit.

Can you take a close up pic of the bulb and post it?

I have an RX300 with 9006 based headlamps. Don't pay any attention to the listing by vehicle. To see their kits, go here.

http://www.hid-online.com/applications/carkits.asp

They have a very good reputation which is why I got my kit from them. Send them an email about your problem and see what they say. For additional information on your vehicle you can check out hidforum.com. Lots of information over there.

my friend's e36 m3 had the same problem (i believe he has h1 too), all you need is just to grind down one corner of the housing (not the bulb) a little bit and it fits fine already

Installed H1 (low beams) and H3 (fog lights) 6000k kits for 2004 LX470.
Actually started with 4100k bulbs, then moved on to 6000k for bulish white color.
Bought it from 'Xenon Depot'. Canadian based firm. Ver helpful & courteous.
They were seen in SEMA (recently held in Las Vegas).

Steve, is a nice guy to deal with. Bulbs fit properly, no issues so far. Ballasts & bulbs are Philips.
Feel free to use my vehicle as a reference. Rest assured, I do not get kickbacks.
