LFAs for sale online
I had a look in Cars.com and to my surprise there were 7 LFAs for sale
One was at a specialty dearer for Just under half a million
The others were at Lexus dealers and were offered at list
One was for a yet to be received car speced by the dealer
I wonder how many unsold cars we will eventually see being offered in a similar manner
The JM Lexus car was one of the available cars

oh? how did you do the selection? i went there and under lexus (new car) there is no lfa for selection. it's quite a lot if it's really 7. would be interesting to match the cars to those reported being delivered already
that's what i am thinking too. or they are trying to flip the car already?
Thompson Lexus, PA - $381,100
Specialty Car Company, NC - $495,000
Stevinson Lexus, CO - $384,600
Bergstrom Luxury on Victory Lane, WI - $383,900
Longo Lexus, CA - $382,100 (allocation in early 2012)
JM Lexus, FL - $381,400
Lexus Carlsbad, CA - $381,200
something i don't understand. if a lexus dealership gets inventory and put it on sale, fine. but how come there are 2 3rd party auto dealerships apparently having the lfa in the inventories (both with real pictures) for sale?!?!?!

The one from CO. was supposedly Kent Stevinson's personal purchase... I've heard this from a couple of sources now, but apparently that's not true anymore? COLORADO RED LFA THREAD

I called the Specialty folks
They bought the car somewhat as an investment
They had a dal with the dealership they bought from to look the other way regarding selling above list for the resale
They will be lowering the price
The nice thing with this one is these guys can put together financing of the buyer's choosing

with so many lfa available, i guess the markup scheme probably won't work out well
The fact that so many units are built and offered puts more questions in place about the whole allocation thing
I would think Lexus was happy to move the unit and wouldN't be in a hurry to razz the dealer for giving up on an unlikely opportunity to profit on a resale

depends on how they look at it. i am sure on one hand, they want to just unload all the cars as soon as possible, especially when they still have more unallocated slots coming 2012. but on the other hand, they have always wanted to control the price and avoid any flipping (evidently), although i don't know how they can really do that.

Why, I just don't get it..!!
