LF-A will debut in Tokyo...Details Oct 21st...
I think in this sense exotic refers to materials and structure (lightweight composite, carbon fiber), engine placement (mid engine), price ($150k+), horsepower (450hp+), styling (more concept car than street car). Of course all this is subjective. There are no established rules as to what makes a car an exotic.
And the stormtrooper comment was funny, but I'd ask that you stop ruining the image for me.
some said the same about the r8 too when audi decided to make the car. well we know how much respect the r8 is getting now
i am not saying that the lfa will get the same treatment, but i am saying with our standard (financially, mentally) it's hard to really understand what rich people (who can actually afford these cars) think

I was fortunate enough to see the race LF-A at pebble beach this year, I thought it looked amazing. Lucky for me I'm also attending the Tokyo Motor Show so hopefully I'll be able to see it in person once again. =)
-faster
-better sounding
-more reliable
-more exclusive
Just for kicks i called my local lexus dealer, and aske dhim the waitlist on the LF-A/LF-L and he said they stopped taking confirmed orders after they got 5 people on the list because they did not know how many would be allocated to them.
They said the first 2 would sureley get a car within the first 3 months of launch. The sales guy said the GM has imposed a markup of about $75K. I said to him " I thought lexus does not do markups and that the company strongly discourages and does not motivate these kind of activities from its dealer network.
His answer was... "well this car is an exotic and exception which is why many other dealers would probably follow suit, similar to the Audi R8 in its first year inception"
His estimate was about $500,000 for a customer purchase price with a $425-$450K MSRP.

I don't like the design at all. I think it looks bulky and "blocky". The lines dont flow at all in this car. The front reminds me 98 Mitsubishi 3000gt. With such a high price tag and only 500 units I would have hoped Lexus would make this not only a engineering marvel, but a work of art for the ages...a timeless classic.
