The racing prototypes had a huge fixed spoiler at the back, so I don't think they needed a lot of downforce. The racing prototypes also did not have the production body; they used temporary custom body panels. Since they did not use production body panels on the race prototypes, it makes sense.

Now while testing the production body, they obviously have put everything on the body that is needed for production, such as these flaps it looks like. At high speeds even small details like these flaps play a big role.

Plus, there is a small chance these may not be on the final production car when Lexus reveals the LF A, although they most likely will be.

I think the bigger reason is misdirection; in true Toyota tradition, they kept many of the production car's details tightly under wraps for as long as possible.

Its almost time!!

I too prefer the rear on the LF-A II Concept more than what appears to be production version. The vents are a little to big IMO and look kind of silly.

It's not beautiful in the Italian sense but I'm liking it nonetheless. It looks like a proper exotic.

Maybe because the radiators in an actual production car need more airflow?

the prototype has a substantial bumper.

this one has almost no bumper toward the sides...
And also I guess the tail lamps now just go horizontal versus the inverted "L" shape. Prefer the L shape.

That much I can agree with... however, I'll wait and see how it looks when they uncover it.

Can't tell until I see it without the covers, but so far not bad. Doesn't get me excited, but I WILL give it a 2nd look if I ever see it on the streets.

Looks very good. Can't wait for the next comparison between Ferrari 458 Italia and Lexus LF-A and Nissan GT-R and Porsche 911 Turbo.
