New 2006 Lexus LS!?
From the Japanese Best Car Magazine.
Lexus LS:
- Debuting at the end of 2005
- Will have a base engine of 4.5 or 4.6L (so LS450/460?)
- There'll be a "GT" model with a 5.0L engine
- Design will be "showcar"-like
Lexus IS:
- Debuting in fall 2005
- Base engine: 2.5L V6; Upper: Yamaha 3.5L V6
- Same V6 as new GS, but will be tuned for higher output
- Width will be the only increased dimension
Personal opinion:
The LS in the pic looks like a chop of the LF-S, which I think is more suitable for the IS to look like.
The IS in the pic looks like a chop of the current IS with some headlight and grille alteration.
Again it's all speculation.

I very much doubt that the LS will be THAT sleek and sporty. The LS thrives on its conservative luxurious
appearance. This design would have been suitable for the new GS although I still love the actual 2006 GS design. I would also expect the new IS to be better looking than that image, however it's still nice.

sweetsc400, what do you have against Toyota+Yamaha? They've been working together since the days of the 2000GT, which is a legend. I welcome Yamaha's involvement.

As I've said before, I no longer have any faith in these sketches after seeing the numerous renderings of the new GS, many of them from Japanese magaazines, and how different they look from the real GS that was eventually unveiled.
These sketches look O.K. but not spectacular, I sure hope the real cars will look better.
