Default Steering wheel motor on sc300???

On my 94 sc300, the steering wheel comes out and meets you perfectly fine, but the motor that makes it go up and down seems to be out or jammed. It just makes a high pitched screek noise when you attempt to move it. Ideas or suggestions on a fix?

Same thing happened to my 93' SC300 about 4 months after i bought it in 2001. Had to take it to the dealership and it cost around $500 to replace that motor. However when I did take it in they said they might be able to add lube to ge the motor to work again. But no luck in my case. Hopefully that might work for you since it is at least making a noise.

Thanks for the reply. I'll try that. I really don't want to drop $500 on a motor taht is not essential. Seems like a bit of a waist.
