Default Thanks Percy

Must admit to being a much less enthusiastic auto sound system buff in recent years until I got the GS4. Then finding this site and the recommendation on Dynaudio speakers so I naturally did the 240 MKIIs in the front after reading Percy's comments. I have also followed the threads where the comment was made about the dyn's sounding better over time but not sure I appreciated it. Well, whatever is going on, and maybe the warmer weather has something to do with it, but even with the stock HU and amp, those dyns in the front doors are amazing. Still may get around to upgrading the sub and adding an outboard amp but I believe those dyns in the front doors are the most important drivers in the car and the dyns are special regardless of the type of music you listen to as I listen to a little bit of everything and no single type really consistently. So thanks Percy, I would have never known without coming here.

You think they sound good now, just wait until you run some decent power to them

I have the 240's in the doors of my GS430 also with the MW170's in the rear doors.

Ron,

Glad you like the speakers and the sound from them. As DPGS430 says, the more power the Dyns have, the happier they are!

If I ever get the crazed idea of stuffing MD330D ESOTAR tweeters in the car (don't tempt me!) I'll let you know the procedure. The A pillars will look FUNKY after that transplant!

OK, so the front pillars would become an A+, what's wrong with that? I must admit, the aftermarket amp is getting higher on my list. At high volume settings I believe I get some distortion but I don't think it is from the dyns. I have ADS 336im in the rear doors and they provide a little better fill than the stocks with the dyns up front but the big difference is the dyns. Lexus should really think about canning ML like Nak and do a dyn setup like Volvo. Did I say that?

Ron,

Yep...you sure said it! Now if only Lexus would listen... (pun intended!)
