Default infinity reference

hi ppl,

this is a question for all you guys who know speakers...

i recently bought infinity references all around...

i installed the 6x9's in the back but they sound like crap

like the highs and mids sound ok.. but theres no bass!!!

is it because the speakers suck? are they designed like that? did someone sell me a pair of crap? do i need an amp? its like when i turn the bass all the way up the grills shake but i know that thats because i don't have that layer of foam..

but i think ima fix that soon

any help would be GREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAT!

infinity's aren't bad. somehow i got alpine's replaced in my car. i don't know how they got there, but i'm happy as long as i didn't pay for it. it could be the amp, since you're still running the stock amp. or maybe the stock sub isn't responding right, so the bass is trying to be shot through your rear's. this would also depend on where your treble is set. if the treble is set really low, with the bass way up, it'll make it sound funny.

see the thing is... i turn the bass all the way up... and the treble all the way down and there still is REALLY little bass...

i mean, are infinity's designed like that? the highs and mids sound great but the bass leaves a lot to be desired...

An amp will REALLY help out a lot... Do you still have your factory radio??? If so that is why.. Otherwise an amp will make them sound really nice. I have some cerwin vega 6x9's and they didnt sound to hot when i had them in, but then when I put an amp on them, people thought I had subs... No joke.. Anyway let me know.

If you're looking to add a decent, but not overbearing, amount of bass, try the Infiniti Basslink. I put one in my CL-S and I love it. I'm no self-proclaimed audio installer and I did it myself. About $210 on ebay and $10 in wires and I'm really happy with the sound.

Default i got them to work correctly

lol... they sounded stupid cuz i didn't do the cross over or somethin' like that....

i was thinkin' i get more stuff next.... sub and amp to be exact

my stereo guy reccomends i get 3 10's MTX thunders (the silver ones) or a bazooka tube...

i kinda wanted the Audiobahn flame 12" or a kicker solo baric 12" to save space.....

what do you guys think?

i got the 605 componants in the front and 6953 or whatever in the back.
the 6x9s are rated at 200w. they're actually GREAT speakers but one thing.
are you using your stock amp?
just to let you know...the rear channels from the stock amp are crossed over for highs only.
bass is from the front woofers.
i got it rigged so that the front channel woofer out are for channel 1&2 from AM amp and 3&4 for the highs.
works out GREAT!

i would go with the 3 MTX 6000's they sound nice..
just buy a big amp for it...
i think u'd be good with 1 MTX 8000 12 inch or the audiobahn..
just get a good amp...
it'll sound nice...
BLING BLING

btw... I think bazooka's ****in' suck... they are so weak.. and don't give you that hard hittin' bass feelin'... is anyone else feelin' the same way about bazooka's?

Yeah, they sound awful. My Basslink definitely isn't the same as large enclosure subs but the little thing (ie trunkspace still great) makes my hair stand and my chair vibrate so I'm happy enough.
