Default Sound System upgrade

Hey...

I've been around these forums for a while, just signed up though because I got a 2014 is350 F sport.
Got the base model so theres no Mark Levinson sound system... I'd like some sort of a simple upgrade, any recommendations? new speakers? sub? what direction should I go... FYI I know nothing about sound upgrades, I just know my 02' is300 had better sound then my 350 lol

Better speakers is a good start. I doubt you want to change head unit.

I went and installed an amp and sub. Made equalizer adjustments and I'm very happy with the sound.

What kind of AMP did you use and how many channels was it.

I was planning to do this but never had to confidence to do it.

More importantly, where were the amp and sub placed?

This car is small and i dont really want to give up any more usuable space in the trunk.

I am using a JL 500/1 500w rms mono class D amplifier.

Everything is in the trunk. The box is the smallest airspace made by my stereo shop for the Boston G5 10" sub that I am using. The amp is on the back of the rear seat. It doesn't kill my trunk space I can still carry groceries with two loaded golf bags.

Anyone know of the best bang for your buck speakers? I was thinking of upgrading my speakers alone, but unsure as to what would be the best.

I've had great experience with alpine, kicker, and jbl in the past. For budget pioneer or kenwood.
