audio playback from Ipad?

audio playback from Ipad?
Is it possible to play audio from an Ipad mini?
I looked up the user manual for a 2015 IS and they list compatible devices and it includes all kind of versions of Ipods, Iphones but I see no mention of an Ipad.
I have an audio book stored on Ipad mini and was wondering if I will be able to listen to it in my not yet delivered IS.
I guess in the worst case if it doesn't work through USB I will be able to play it through Aux?
