Bluetooth Audio Question
I have an iPhone running ios 6 and a 2012 ES 350 without the navigation system. I have paired my phone to the car and paired it as an audio device. If I setup the BT audio connection option as "from car", every time I get into my car the phone's sounds are only hear when I have selected the cd-aux input. This is not the desired behavior that I want. If I change the BT audio connection option as "from audio", I am able to hear the phone's sounds on the phone no matter which audio input the radio is selected. This is my desired behavior. Here is the issue. If I want to listen to my phone's music through BT, the radio's display indicates that I have no BT connected. How can I connect the BT audio on demand? The only way that I found is to go through the BT audio setup again and select "from car". Is there a setting on the iPhone that will initiate the connection when I have selected "from audio"?
Thanks,
John

I do not know of one. I think you would have to select is as the source because of the fact that there is also an 1/8" audio jack that is an aux source, and of course the cd changer. Without specifying, I don't believe the car nor the iPhone can automatically discern that you want to play music through the phone and bluetooth.
I could be wrong...maybe other members can chime in.

If that is the case, then why is there a "from audio" during the bluetooth setup. Like I mentioned, if I set it to "from car" it automatically connects. Unfortunately, this is not the behavior I want. I don't always listen to my phone's music and therefore I miss audio notification since the sound goes to bluetooth and I don't have it selected as the source.
