So I had a JL 12" up until about an hour and a half ago when my new Pheonix Gold Ti2800.1 Monoblock Amp blew it. I have no idea which exact JL I had because it was practically given to me by a buddy since my LS came with a blown sub. I am now looking for recommendations on a new subwoofer that hopefully will not blow on that amplifier. I'm no audio head nor do I fully understand all the logistics that go with matching up woofers to amps. I have an enclosure for 1 sub, so it has to be 1 sub. Any recommendations/help would be greatly appreciated.. I don't really want to break the bank on a sub btw... I don't need something that beats down the block. I just like deep quality bass that sounds great and can handle my Chop & Screwed music.
I ran Audiobahn for years but from friends I've heard their quality has diminished. Kicker comp CVX or Alpine S is amazing subs for a great price. Im running a Memphis audio M class now.

Thanks brother. My best friend swears up and down about Memphis also so I have a friend who owns a shop checking into Memphis for me.

Sorry bud I don't have half of that info other than my budget.. I'd like to keep it under 200 but if I have to go over a bit to get something worth my time then I won't mind.
Memphis is good, clean bass. Its not loud. Kicker and alpine is amazing but its made to pound. If you lived closer bro im selling my kicker mono amp. ZX competition class. The wiring is to much of a pain to run in a first gen lol . I paid full price at $200.
Your budget is $200? Gonna be rough. You'll probably have to buy used. Check your local craigslist. Be weary. Push on the sub. Listen for a crunch. If it does that, Don't buy it. Ask the seller to keep it hooked up or run wiring and test it on the spot. I sold 2 Memphis 12's, box, and a 800 watt Jensen amp for $200.
Looks like the shop I got everything done at is going to hook me up with a 5th gen Alpine Type R for $225 installed. Seems like a pretty decent deal would you guys say? They retail at $290 it seems on Alpine's website, so seems like I may make it out of this fairly well.
