Default Suggestions for 8" subs

I have decided I am going to upgrade my subs. I currently have 2 jl 8w0 and a 300W jbl amp. It was all hand me downs so I cant complain really. The subs were in separate enclosed boxes. I was looking at the focal 21v2, morel primo 804, jl 8w3v3, digital design 2508, anything suggestions as well. I dont want to spend over 400 for the 8 inch subs. As for amps I was either going to get the jl slash 500/1v2 or the alpine pdx m6. Thanks and input or suggestions appreciated!

Can't go wrong with either JL or Focal from a quality standpoint. I run the JL 10W in the Sienna and one is enough for me and has been bullet proof.
I ran some Focal 165/30 in the Mazda and truth was I didn't "need" bass. The music was excellent. But if I were to it would be a marriage if the two. JL is known for solid construction and good bass while Focal sound is exceptional.
Remember, having the CORRECT well made box will make a sub sound awesome. As mine is. An expensive sub with a crappy box will be just what you expect. Muddy, mushy and bass that doesn't accurately keep up with the music. So spend a little extra on a quality MDF box.
Good luck!

I always hear good things about the Digital Designs 2508.

If you ever consider going to a 10" sub, your options will open up. I have a FI SSD and it sounds great ported or sealed. But I think prefer sealed. And the sub is custom hand built.

The sub would depend on your ultimate goal... are you wanting sq or spl?

DD subs tend to be a very all around sub, the other choices you have listed would be good sq subs but will not have have great output/loudness

This sub is great for the money: http://www.parts-express.com/tc-soun...oofer--293-657

Thanks for the replies. I have already made my decision and purchased two focal 21v2 subs. I am going for sq not spl. I am very satisfied with what it is. Running both subs off a focal fp4.75. I had a them put in a sealed box with the right amount of volume as per the spec sheets say and they are very high quality subs.
