Need Nak stereo help!!!!
Just picked up a 95 SC400 today and all was well. Was heading back home listening to the radio and all of a sudden the sound dies. The head unit still lights up and works from what I can tell but I'm getting no sound. I placed it on CD player and I could faintly hear alittle bit of music. I checked the fuse box in the engine bay and also the one under the drivers dash and all the fuses were good. I tried looking for the stock amp (if there is one) but couldn't find it. Anyone know where the amp is located? Anyone know if there's a fuse inside the amp which may have blown? Please help!!!!!!
It could be almost anything in the audio system causing this. The Nak systems are notorious for having amp problems that are expensive to repair. Check this place out http://carstereohelp.com/lexus.htm . There is a DIY fix for a problem similar to yours along with prices to repair/replace the Nak amp. I have talked to these people before and they advise to stay away from the Nak audio systems in the Lexus if the car is used or out of warranty. They see a ton of problems with the Nak systems. Hope this helps you out !!!
