Default Audio noise

I seem to have a problem. On cold mornings, for the first 5-10 minutes, my stereo system makes a kind of heavy static "tuk" sound when I brake, or go over bumps, etc. It seems like something is touching something when the car moves up and down on the suspension. This started after my L-Tuned suspension installation. Anybody ever have this problem? Any ideas from you sound system guys? After a few minutes it goes away. It is the Mark Levinson system.

Sounds like a ground issue, but it's unusual it would go away after a few minutes.

Dipstick - I'm also moving your post to the electronics section so you'll get responses both on the redirect from the GS forum and the experts here.

Default More on problem

Today it is happening all day, even after warmed up. I'm going to check connections to my subwoofer tomorrow-- I have had big boxes stacked in there lately (springs, shocks, sway bars) maybe I bumped something.

Check your grounds. Usually if your ground wires are not securely bolted down, or if you did not remove the paint before installing the ground, you would pick up an alternator noise. When you are pressing accelerator,, your alternator spins faster giving your system more noise and vise versa when you brake. In the morning you might get some water residue on your connections. That too may cause a bad ground. To take care of that problem, just put a thick layer of durable paint on your ground connection.

Default and more....

I discovered today that it only happens on AM, not FM. Does that help? It is sounds like someone is tapping on a connection with something metallic, when the car bounces up or down. ??????
