I have the 2001 GS300 with Nav and M/L audio package. About two months ago, when I tuned on the audio, the volume just went MAX and I was lucky that I am still have my hearing today. Anyway, I read lots of post about the amp. defect issues on this board, and took the car to dealer. Not a problem for them to replace the amp. This is where the problem started:
After replacement, I noticed the sound just not as rich as it was before, and ASL is working, but is far less sensitive than before. I went back to the dealer, and he replaced again, but the result is still the same. Dealer agree to look into that issue, but has no answer to this point.
To all the experts in this community, could anyone give me some inside to if this is kind of experiences that might happened to others in similar situation? By replacing amp, is there any other parts may possible need replaced as well? Is there some special adjustment has to be made on those M/L amp. after replacing or before?
From what I have heard, the new version of the ML amps don't sound as good as the older ones...there is no tuning involved, it's the amps themselves...
ye, my cousin just got a 2001 GS300 with Lev 2 days ago. He said it is the worst sound system he ever heard, he think his mom RX300 sound better than his GS3
