Default Amp help

ok here is my problem, I have installed daimond audio hex's up front in my car and I just took out the rear speakers, now I have a PPI-PCX440 amp and its running at 4ohms, my problem is my DA need at least 100watts RMS and my amp is only putting out 40watts @4 OHMS, now I know if I bridged the amp I can get 160 watts @4ohms bridged, but I dont know how to do this, my other option is to go out and get a new amp but I dont know of any that would put out that kind of power for a good price ( no more than $250 ) I was thinking maybe the JL audio or even the JBL wich I heard has pretty good SQ and is very cheap, but I would prefer sticking with my PPI. Basicly what Im trying to say is HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

You could bridge it down to 2 ohm, this would give you a 80w @ a 2 ohm load. I believe the 160@4 ohm would be mono, or one channel, so that would not work well. I do not know if those diamonds can run at 2 ohms though. There are plenty of diagrams out there to rewire your amp, check the owners manual?

The PCX 440 is a 4 channel amp, so he can do it.
Run a set of RCA's to the amp like normal. Get two pair of Y splitters (each with one female and two male heads) and put them at the end of the RCA's, with the left signal going to the two left inputs and the right going to the two right inputs. Then just take the left HEX alone and bridge it to the two channels with the left signal. Do likewise with the right HEX and right channels. Each HEX should now be getting 160 watts.
If you didn't well visualise what I'm saying, just go buy the two appropriate Y-splitters and we'll guide you from there.
