does the ML amp go into "protection mode" or cuts off if a more powerful sub is installed?

I just took out the ML Subwoofer and there was on 2 wires attached to it. There was a Red and a Yellow wire.

Does anyone know which wire is the Positive wire and Negative wire? Thanks

I connected the wires to a 9 volt battery and it appears that the Red wire in my car is the Positive speaker wire.
