Default blown speaker

i have a 06 mark lev system. i noticed that a crackling noise coming from my sub, and i notice that my rear speaker was blown. i didnt think that the mark lev sub would blow so easy, i took it in to the dealership and they replaced my right rear door speaker after i specifically told them it was the rear sub. so they ordered me a new sub. has anyone else have this problem and is there another sub that i can buy aftermarket that will work with mark lev amp. thanks in advance

Wait, so was it the rear door speaker or the subwoofer?

Wow. I would guess you're playing your system at insane volumes, or you had a defective speaker (or sub). There are two typical ways to blow a speaker. 1. Let it get to be about 20+ years old and the rubber or foam surround will separate/disintegrate or, 2. play your system so loud that you generate significant distortion for an extended period which melts the voice coils.

Of course, the third option is a defective driver...which is probably the case.
