Default JBL MS-8 in LS460

Has anyone installed the JBL MS-8 in an LS460 with the ML system? Just wondering if it made THAT much of a distance once installed. I know what it's supposed to do. Wondering if anyone has done it. Thanks!!

iceman - did you get any feedback anywhere else about installing the ms-8 in your LS460? I'm considering the same in my RX400h.

Nope. I've posed the same question on DIYMA also, and haven't seen anything on there either. The only other place I've seen it is in the IS. Someone did it, but I don't think they had the ML. So I don't know if there were any gains or losses.

One disadvantage I am finding with installing the ms-8 on my vehicle, an '08 RX 400h with premium sound system(non-ML), is that I'll need to continue running the sound through the factory amp if I keep the original head unit. You can't bipass it which isn't necessarily a strike against the ms-8 but more of a limitation in trying to keep the factory radio.

From what I've ready on DIYMA, and it sounds like you have too, more than likely, I would bet that you would hear a noticeable differences. keep in mind that that there is a bluetooth compatibility issue with the ms-8 which I understand there is a couple workarounds for although no solid fix (at least that i read).

one other thing to add. Do you have a center speaker/channel? Considering you have an ML system, I would guess you do. If so, from what I'm reading the ms-8 will perform MUCH better. I'm going to look into adding one myself in conjunction with the ms-8.

Ms-8 is the way to go. I just installed one in my Is250 with a JL 600/4 and hertz all around.

nice! Sounds like a killer setup. A few questions about your setup.

Q: Did you replace the factory stereo? If so, with what?

Q: Do you have a center channel?
I read that makes an enormous difference with the ms-8.

Q: Did you experience the "echo issue" others have encountered with your bluetooth (assuming you have one)?

I replace my OEM HU with a Flyaudio HU. I am not currently using a center channel but is considering it. I have not experience any echo issue or noise problem thus far but I have only had the system installed in my car for only a couple of days and have not had the chance to fine tune everything.
