Default Issues with gen 2/3 nav disc 2010

Anyone else upgrade their Nav disc this year? I got the new 2010 DVD from Sewell and it keeps complaining about not being able to read the maps and to check the DVD version. I verified with Sewell that I have the correct version of the disc. They are going to exchange it for a new one.

Anyone else run into this with their new Nav DVD?

EDIT.

I had Sewell replace this DVD and the issue appeared to have gone away. It's several weeks later and I started up my car this morning and same deal. Can't read DVD. I turned off my car and started it again and no issue.

I've NEVER seen this issue before. Has anyone else experienced this in their 2nd/3rd Gen GS with the new 2010 DVD?

LS430 here with Gen2/3 - no problems with my DVD reader. I've used OEM 2.1 disc, backup of 7.1, and currently using a backup of 10.1. Never had a problem.

If your DVD reader has a problem reading the OEM disc, I suspect there is something wrong with your DVD drive. Perhaps the laser diode is going bad or the laser tracking motor is dying.

Yeah, just sucks that I coincided with me switching to a new disc. Any idea how to replace the bad parts if it becomes more of an issue?

oh man, hopefully u won't have any problem w/ the dvd drive, seems like gen 2/3 is having so many variety problems.

anyway, i upgraded mine to 10.1 from 7.1 ( non-OEM disc a.k.a copy ) and no problem. you might want to bring ur car to a Lexus dealer + OEM disc and complaint about the issue you're having. I'm sure they can you give you better answer. Be ready if they just say "you have to replace the whole DVD drive", just walk out and bring it to an independent lexus mechanic around ur area.

Good luck!
