Default removing rear seats in 2nd generation gs

I was wondering if anyone knew how to remove the rear seats in the second generation gs 300. I am planning on removing the rear sub and i hear that its the only way to do it. Any help appreciated. Thanks!

I just did mine a couple days ago and it is a tiny bit tricky! Ok, first pull up on the front of the right and left side of the bottom cushon, it will pop up pretty easily and you can lift it out. Next, remove the 10mm and 12 mm bolts holding down the rear of the seat as well as the seatbelts. Move the seatbelts out of the way (on rear deck). Ok, now take the rear headrests out on each side. Behind where the headrests are there are velcro'd flappers that conceal another 12mm nut on each side. Once those are off the seat back comes out easy as pie. You will also want to remove the pillar trim on each side, (just poppers) and the rear brake light, which just pulls up from the front bottom with a screwdriver or panel popper. Then the rear deck will slide forward easily, just let the seatbelts hold it in the rear seat area while you replace your subwoofer.

Hope that helps!

Do you know if these instructions apply to the MkI GS as well? I'm about to do mine any time now and read somewhere about having to use two crowbars.

the crowbars are used to remove the bottom part, thats what I had to use to remove my seats in my gen.2 GS since mine were a pain in the a$$ to pull by hand they were pinned in there pretty well

Default thanks

Thanks for al the help. I'm only removing my sub because our cars are so insulated that i can't get much bass in the cabin area. I'm going to remove the factory sub as a port to the cabin.
