Anyone know if you will still be able to get Eclipse units repaired by the manufacturer? I'm looking for a double din HU and would strongly consider an Eclipse but am concerned that I wouldn't be able to get service if I needed it somewhere down the line.
I think Eclipse sends/refers repairs to United Radio anyway so I don't think servicing their head units will be a problem.
Mobile ES C90 was the most pristine SQ head unit I ever had. Still kickin myself for selling that one! Clarion DRZ-9255 is right there with it tho. That's what's goin in the GS.
Eclipse units used to be great. Favorite one that I owned was I believe the 5303 with the rotary ****. Sorry to see them go.
I used to have a 5303R and loved it, I later upgraded to the Eclipse 55060 which was another nice head unit.
Eclipse made the best decks back in the day, though the Pioneer Premier P1R was cool to.

The Clarion had the Burr Brown converters and BB2604 Op amps. That explained their "warm/full" sound. C90 is more detail, and quite easy to modify.
And yes, the C90, in terms of straight out sound quality, will waste the Alpine F1 Status. Both generations. Alpine used the crappo NE5532/NE5534 op amps. Just inexcusable for the cost of the unit.
