Dealers have just been circulated a bulletin from Fujitsu Ten regarding the Eclipse line of car audio. They will be shutting down this year to focus on their OEM products for manufactures like Toyota.
If you're a fan of the Eclipse line or just want to have a collectible, you may wish to get yours now. This year all Eclipse sales and production will cease.

Sign of the times I guess. I used to remember when Sony (ES) (XES) made some outstanding gear. But they killed them for the "xplod" series. Just crap when compared to some of the old legends.
Eclipse made some very decent stuff at one time. Wonder how well they fared the last few years...

Bad inverter unit? Those C90 models were THE ones to beat in terms of SQ. And they can be modded quite easily.
Even the famed 2nd gen Alpine F#1 Status can't touch the C90 when it came to all out SQ. And I'm very serious about that one. Alpine had tunability, but didn't use the right op amps.

Anyone know if you will still be able to get Eclipse units repaired by the manufacturer? I'm looking for a double din HU and would strongly consider an Eclipse but am concerned that I wouldn't be able to get service if I needed it somewhere down the line.

Gotta love the "If struck by lightning" power ratings on the amps too.
They were far from the only ones doing that though. That'd ease my mind a little bit if they were still making head units. I'm almost down to Kenwood or Eclipse since there seems to be alot more complaints about bugs in the Pioneer units and Alpine doesn't have anything in my price range. It seems I could get a little more features for the price from Eclipse.
