I never really liked neither, but dan Rockford Fosgate bought out MB Quarts. The unthinbable has happened! Looks like Best Buy will be pimping with new German speakers now!

" Tempe, Ariz. ? Rockford Corporation is excited to announce that it has reached a definitive agreement to acquire high-end German mobile, home theater and professional audio manufacturer MB Quart Akustik GmbH. High-End German Engineered Mobile, Home and Pro Audio Manufacturer will Broaden Rockford?s Product Portfolio and Deepen its Penetration into Key European Markets."

I'm trying to find any info on this announcement, and can't locate it. Could you point to where you found it?

Thumbs up RF/Lightning Audio

E - Yep, RF bought out Lightning Audio about a year ago primarily for their line of wires & interconnects. I've seen some of the Strike series ( Lightning ) amps they remind me of the first/second generation RF Punch amps with the optional fan module. Haven't heard any of them yet but my friend Rick is working on an SPL demo ride for his shop using the Lightning amps & RF Power DVC's so I'll see what he comes up with ( though he MAY be planning on trying the new JL W7 instead of the DVC's.

That's what I USED to think! Until I spent time tuning at 1 am in the morning with a Cetic Ivie 30 band 1/3rd octave analyzer pumping A weighted Pink Noise through the system. Geez...the old days of cold pizza, warm Pepsi and tired ears come to mind.

With the Dyns...I could get 95% of the tuning down within 5 to 10 minutes. The rest were just fine adjustments. No more bags underneath the eyes...or the spilled Pepsi!

Hope those 2 companies will stay separate. If you ever considered buying MBQ's, do it now!

Percy, do you work for Dynaudio...lol

I am not sure if I want a W7 until I am 100% sure that this sub will be in any way better then IDMAX. They will be close though. They use the similar technology of a larger cone area and small surround still maintaining a monsterous XMAX.
