Default HELP.....1997 SC400 Stereo problems

I have searched and have the common stereo on and working but no sound. The amp under the changer looks fine no rust and no water/corrosion. The connection under the driver rear seat looks fine no water/corrosion. I read something about a connection problem for the cell phone behind the driver side trunk panel, but didn't really see anything or know what to excatly look for. I wired up a connection for an additional amp in the trunk for my sub box in 2004. Is there a way to test the amp? The fuse under the hood for the stereo is good. Is there any other troubleshooting I can do?. I need to sell and can't without the stereo working.

There are two fuses for the stereo/amp -- one is under the hood, and the other is in the left kick panel. Have you changed both?

If so, the next step will be to try swapping your amp out temporarily with a known working unit, to see if that helps.

unfortunately, its impossible to say what you need given the info we have... it is likely that the amp is bad, and that a replacement unit would fix your issue... however, it is also very possible that the head unit itself is bad...

you may be able to find a used set on ebay or here, but if you want a faster, better fix, ya might look into an aftermarket unit and a little bit of rewiring...

Fixed it...the amp works.....it was the power wire I spliced to hook up the sub amp that corroded and broke. Re spliced the wire the old and new amp work!
