Default Subwoofer Issue - Please HELP

Hi fellow forum members,

I am having this constant problem with my system. I have installed a Pioneer Avic D3 and two Amps, a JL mids and heighs amp and a JL 500/1 amp that is powering two 12's. Initially i had two JL Audio W3s in there but i was having an issue when even if the volume was all the way down on the radio i would hear noises coming from the subs...like popping loud noises coming, i'm not sure exactly how to describe it. It would particularly happen if i went over a bump but it would happen regardless. Either way i changed these subs out after they ceased to work properly and put in two Kicker CVRs. I initially thought perhaps it was the subs that were bad but low and behold the same thing happens with these subs, except louder noise. I pulled out the RCA's from the amp and figured this would temporarily stop it while i drive but the noise continued. Only until i pulled out the speaker wire from the subs did it cease.

It is a loud noise from the subs. Cracking Popping bass like noise. I wish i could describe it better. Does anyone have any idea what this might be? I have checked the RCA connection behind the deck and it is fine. There is no engine whine or feedback through the interior speakers at all, just these noises coming from the subs.

Any help will be appreciated.

Yes. You mapped it out well below.

It's the amp. You effectively eliminated the deck and RCA's from being the culprit when you unplugged them and the noise continued. Check the ground connection on the amp, it sounds (no pun intended) as though it may be loose and affected when you bounce. If that does not work, check to make sure that you did not mount the amp where a screw might touch metal, thereby grounding the chassis and creating a loop. Get back to us if you find something or if this solves the probrem.
