Default Car Audio Help

I recently bought a JL audio 13w7 subwoofer as well as a JL audio 1000/1 amp. The amp is powered by my car battery and a two farad capacitor. When I turn the volume up real high on the sub I start hearing a clipping noise when the sub hits really hard. After installing the 2 farad cap, the volume/bass levels I could reach were higher than without one, but I still can't reach maximum potential without the clipping. What can I do?

Without the cap, your system was unable to supply enough current. You made it better by storing the charge in the cap. Every thing has its limit ... if your amp has input limiter, then set it a bit lower or listen at level without distortion [both schemes produce the same high level but at different position of the volume ****].

Or upgrade the Amp.
