Need help finding the right amp?
I have a Pioneer AVIC F900BT, and was wondering what is a good amp from JL AUDIO to power 2 sets of Alpine Type R's 6.5 (110w rms) and a 10' Pioneer TS-SW1041D sub (250w RMS). Thanks
I have a TMA Mono amp which is made by JL. Puts out a very strong 250 watts RMS...loved it, looks new and works like new. I'm only asking $80 shipped. Let me know if you are interested. In fact I stayed loyal to TMA and just upgraded to a 500 watt amp, really is a good brand.
get something rated to about 100w RMS per channel, and you'd want a 3 channel amp, could try a 4 channel maybe.
Best to have an amp that does just below RMS,otherwise you'll do what i did and blow £80 speakers
i'm kinda new to doing system's myself usually my mate handles the technical stuff and i just pay for it,lol

You have a few choices with JL's current line up. For entry level there's the G series amps. The G4500 (80x4) and G1700 (350x1). If you're willing to sacrifice a little power for simplicity there's the 6 channel G6600 (75x6). If you want to step up the performance there's their Slash series. The 300/4 (75x4) and 250/1 (250x1) would be a great match. If you want even more power there's the HD600 (150x4) but only one model for the mono amp, the HD750/1 (750x1) which is way more than you need. You can mix and match but for a clean look I'd stay with the same series for both amps.
