Default No sound from 4 speakers, ls400

Well the sound suddenly just stopped coming out of the bottom four speakers, but the two next to the window and the one in the back works. Anyone have any idea what could be wrong? Thanks for your help.

I also tried taking out the panel and unplugging and replugging the wires to see if that works, no go.

Hmmmm that's what my friend said, but I have no idea how to test it. I did unplug it and the back speaker stopped playing and worked again after I replugged it. I don't know what that means though haha.

the only way to test your amp. is open up the door panel. get a voltmeter. than see if a current is flowing through

Well my dad told my to use the 75-DCV setting to test it, but there was no indication of power coming from the speaker that was working, so do I use another setting?

Its quite likely that the amp has gone bad. Although If the two tweeters up front are getting power that must mean that the front speakers are receiving some power. The front set up is components meaning instead of your mids and highs being in one speaker (co-axial) there is the woofer for mids (bottom speaker) and the tweeters for highs (up towards the windows. The power goes to the whole arrangement and the crossover designates the frequencies and divides them accordingly. IDK something in the wiring or amp has gone bad unless if the speaker is just blown, which happens as they age.

if the amp was bad the door tweeters wouldnt work because the wiring for them come off the 4 inch door speakers. so since the tweeters work the amp is send current to the 4 inch speakers also but they are not working. all 4 speakers are bad. they have about a 15 year life and the are now 16 years old.

if the tweeter is working the only problem it can be is a blown speaker. the tweeters would not be working if the amp was blown. the the tweeters are not wired from the amp but from the 4 inch speaker box connector. . just get some working 4 inch 4 ohm 40 watt speakers and you will have working system again.
