Default Optima yellow top and power issues

Jut an FYI I've got a sc3 with a "few" stereo mods and after upgrading to a 180amp alternator and a 2 farad capacitor I was still having light dimming and cut outs at idle at night. So I finally got the yellow top as a last resort and I'm 100% sold. Difference is day and night. I havn't tested it's "deep cycling" technology yet but no more cut outs and the lights BARELY dim now, not even noticible unless your looking.

I tried both the recomended diehard gold and platinum series and both didn't do much for me. So just wanted to spread the word to the CL community if anyone else has had an issue.

i have a red top in my car and its really good too. if you have a system and have a yellow top you will love it. you can have the car off and play your system for hours and still start your car without a problem.

another good one that i have tried is the exide gel cell. it as good as the optima but half the cost, at least what i can get it for.

Thanks for the info... After installing all my audio/videos gadgets I never really had any lighting prob (knock on wood) guess the SPL 5 farad capacitor did the job well... The new system was slowly killing the stock battery though, there was days when I would leave the head lamp on for no more than a minute after the car is turned off & the battery would go dead. When I decided it was time to get a new battery last Friday, I was debating whether to go with Diehard Platinum or Optima Yellow top... Did some quick research online and spoke to to a few ppl who said the two was pretty much equal... When it came down to it, I did went with the Optima Yellow Top. Now with every turn of the key I can feel how easy the car is cracking now. Two days now since I got my Yellow Top and I think I make the right choice.

Default Yellow Top Fa Sho!

I'm also a huge Optima fan. The yellow top is a certified beast. No dimming with all my lights and system. Can play my system all day with the engine off. Exterior and Interior lights are brighter. Startup is quicker (w/ no music cutout like I did w/ stock). The car is just lot more efficient and reliable. A quality battery is a must.

Nice pictures PushinLEX...thinking about getting some new terminals for a cleaner look? I am trying to find a website where I can pick some up for reasonable price...

Don't forget Optima have available a $25 coupon for those who recently purchase a new battery. Link

Thanks for the heads up on the coupon. Unfortunately, I purchased it before the dates of the promo, plus I bought it brand new on ebay, but I doubt he's an authorized dealer. You think I could still qualify for the rebate with paypal receipt?
